Bluetooth PTT Explorer

The Bluetooth PTT Explorer combination of BT devices allows a portable radio user
more freedom of hand movement during a radio conversation than with typical handheld
portable two-way radio operation.

The Explorer makes use of the SCC751 headset as shown in the picture below. The earphone device plugs into the users ear and provides a very effective transfer of received audio in a noisy acoustic environment.

This BT option provides a separate PTT button device (SHP612) that can be carried in the operators hand to provide the PTT function.

A finger PTT extension swith can also be plugged into the SHP612 which will reduce the amount of hand movement required to make a transmission.
 
This BT device combination has been developed for use in a noisy and windy environment with a typical application being used by hunters and on-foot policing.

A hunter cannot afford to alarm its prey by using a noisy radio receiver or by making hand movements that can be detected by animals with sharp eyes.  The earphone fits into the ear of the user and no external acoustic sound will be audible.  This feature allows the hunter to be updated by his fellow hunters about the movement of the animals or can be used to describe the target in detail to ensure that the right animal is selected.

The PTT button can be mounted on the rifle of the hunter to minimise hand movements or the finger PTT can be worn to simplify talking back on the radio.

In a policing and security guard environment the BT PTT Explorer can be worn as a clandestine communication device to direct guards to perform certain actions.  The way that the Explorer is worn also allows for on-foot persuit of perpetrators without having the hands free devices fall off during movement or running.
